Three years ago, I heard the words that no one wants to hear: “You have breast cancer. “ I was scared, but I was also determined to do whatever it took to defeat that cancer. I was blessed with a great medical team, incredibly supportive family and friends, and good insurance which lessened my financial burden.
And I had an epiphany during my treatment. I realized that I paid lip service to causes that were important to me but I didn't DO much of anything. Facing cancer changed that, and I want to do whatever I can to not only help find a cure, but to provide support to women and men who are not as fortunate as I was.
In this year of a global pandemic and its accompanying financial uncertainty, I registered for the Komen Race for the Cure because I wanted to take action and be More Than Pink(tm). I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer and support our community in that fight, and I need your help. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts.
Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. 75 percent of the money raised through the Race stays in the community to fund local breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent supports groundbreaking breast cancer research.
Together, we are fueling the best science, boldest community and biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. And we will not stop until this disease is gone forever. That's our promise. Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
