This year, I am the team captain for Baptist Cancer Center for the Komen Memphis MidSouth Mississippi Race for the Cure because I wanted to take action and be More Than Pink™. This cause is very dear to me as I am a two time Breast Cancer survivor. I see the impact of Baptist’s Komen grant everyday working at Baptist Women’s Health Center.
Through Komen’s generosity, we are able to perform screening and diagnostic mammograms for uninsured/underinsured women in our communities. Komen’s Support doesn’t stop with this, additional funding allowed breast cancer patients to receive assistance with surgical care which may have otherwise been impossible. This partnership provides more than support, it provides direct patient care.
The Race this year will be a virtual race due to COVID-19 restrictions. This year more than ever it is critical to support this cause so that Komen can continue to provide medical services during these unprecedented times. I want to make an impact in the fight against breast cancer and need your help.
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today in support of my fundraising efforts. Your support helps us get one step closer to a world without breast cancer. 75 percent of the money raised through the Race stays in the community to fund local breast cancer education, screening and treatment programs. The remaining 25 percent supports groundbreaking breast cancer research.
Together, we are fueling the best science, boldest community and biggest impact in the fight against breast cancer. And we will not stop until this disease is gone forever. That's our promise. Will you please join me in this fight by making a donation today?
